Is it possible to disabble/hide a rotation icon in front of the page while a service is invoked? I would like to update/refresh some data in the background and not disturbing the user.

Yes, i.e. turning phone offline/online. This could be tested using an Appery Mobile Tester for sure, but would be also great to find a way to simulate this while testing in a browser.
