Urg - I see where now! Sorry

I select the footer and choose edit / delete but it never disappears. How do I delete the footer or header from a screen?

Is there a way of implementing a split view for the iPad using the IDE? It would be nice to create an project which would switch from split view on the iPad to menu/page view for an iPhone dependant on where it is published.
