I was wondering whether the api express server has a server hosted in Australia or regions nearby.

This is for you to know that all Appery.io Backend services are hosted on Amazon servers (Virginia, USA). However, you are free to use the other servers of your choice.
If you are interested in publishing using a custom domain or publish to a 3rd party hosting provider of your choice, please check this document: https://docs.appery.io/docs/publish#sec ... -appery-io.
And if you use HTTPS instead of HTTP - all your data over an open network will be encrypted in-transit and at-rest with SSL.
