Angular/Bootstrap project migration to Angular 2?

Angular 2 will likely be out in a few months, and Appery has previously stated they will support it. My question is what is the expected upgrade path will be for a current Angular/Bootstrap project? Will there be the ability to upgrade the project, or will it require creating a brand new Appery project to make use of Angular 2?

We have plans to support Ionic 2/Angular 2 next year. We probably won't have an upgrade path because the frameworks are too different. This has to do more with the frameworks, not Appery.io.

Hi Max, will you support Angular2/Bootstrap next year, or only Ionic 2/Angular 2?

Good question - I don't know yet. Definitely Ionic 2/Angular 2.

Does "We probably won't have an upgrade path..." mean existing apps won't work / won't be able to modify further ?

Existing apps will continue to work, you will be able to modify them. There probably won't be an upgrade path to Ionic 2/Angular 2.

Hi, any more specific time frame for ionic/angular 2 support than "next year" . Can you provide a quarter?

The plan for now - 3rd or 4th quarter of 2017.

Hey Max, hope you're doing well. Does this schedule still hold up? We are looking to build a new app but don't want to start it on the old frameworks if a new one is right around the corner. Thanks!

For now yes. Although there is now Ionic 3 beta so we might jump to that version. Too early to confirm.
