My app, and a simple test app, works fine on my old Galaxy S2 under Android 4.1.2. Barcode scanner is perfect.

Same app on Nexus 7 under Android 4.4.4 (and earlier versions) the barcode scanner fails with "Sorry the Android Camera encountered a problem"

I've tried this with External Resources V1.1 (Phonegap 2.9.0) and V2.0 (Phonegap 3.3) with same result - ok on S2, fails on Nexus.

The strange thing is, I'm pretty sure this used to work ok on the Nexus.

I assume that this is an old bug in phonegap with devices without a rearward facing camera, but it looks fixed. Is there any update? Anything I can do?

Sorry for delay, hadn't had time to re-test.

My original post describes the problem and symptoms. I re-tested today with External Resources V1.1 (Phonegap 2.9.0) and V2.0 (Phonegap 3.3). Still broken.

Separate barcode scanner app works fine.

I am having the same problem with my app. When trying to use the barcode scanner, it says "Sorry, the Android camera encountered a problem. You may need to restart the device". I am using Galaxy Note 4, Android Version: 4.4.4. I have also shared my app with support its name is "EB". Please help

Login . From the profile page swipe right, a panel with a menu should show. Click scan. Then on the next page click scan Barcode
