Exporting Android Studio Project Serious Issues.

I have followed the directions as they are straight forward. I even tried with a new untouched appery project without success.

It would be nice for Appery to prove it actually works.

Gentlemen,

Please provide proof that it this can be done. Your most experienced users here - can't make this work.

I'm happy to create the video and update everyone here with the steps to work around this critical product flaw.

I've also emailed support with the project ID , etc. so that we can expedite a fix today!

Exporting Android Studio Project Serious Issues.

Thanks Bruce,

I hope it is soon. I am tired of jumping through hoops to get a working APK to build in Android Studio.
I have been waiting 6 months.

Exporting Android Studio Project Serious Issues.

Serhii from Support just told me by email - that taking a project - even the most basic - out to Android Studio, and building it - without changes - and seeing if it would compile - is out of scope?

Appery - this is a broken feature. If you export to Android Studio - with no source changes and no Plugins - the App is supposed to Build through Android Studio - and it does NOT.

How can you call this:

  1. A Feature of your product if it just plain does not work ?

2 How can you call this out of the scope of support. The Feature is part of what you supply - and it clearly does NOT work.

    Help please!

Exporting Android Studio Project Serious Issues.

Dear Appery,

I completely agree with Bruce.

According to your feature overview:

"Export App Source - You can export pure app sources as HTML5/CSS or as a ready-to-use IDE project for Android (Eclipse project), and iOS (xCode project)."

It is obvious that the export is not ready-to-use, quite possibly if not probably not usable at all.

Possibly you can back it up with Eclipse project example?

Furthermore, to provide such ineffective support and then say that the feature is out side of scope of support is contradictory to the stated feature.

I think asking the appery team to provide a working example of the stated feature of export ready-to-use IDE project is more than reasonable. You guys are supposed to be the appery experts. If exporting a ready-to-use IDE project is true as you say, you should be able to prove it in 20 minutes or less. But personally I think the reluctance to do so is a way to avoid admitting that it does not work, otherwise why would you not.

Sadly, I have realized this pattern in appery some time ago and have given up on expecting or even hoping for quality support.

Sorry for being so negative and even cynical, though I do feel than my perceptions and expectations are reasonable.

Exporting Android Studio Project Serious Issues.

Jeff,

thank you for weighing in here.

Just so there's no confusion - here's the unaltered email string from Appery support - most recent reply (from me) on Top - providing the same comment as Jeff provided moments ago:

================Me

How can Exporting a Product – bland – to an Android Studio – Bland – with no changes – and attempting to build it without any changes – be out of scope ?

This is a feature of the product – correct? The export is supposed to create files that work with Android Studio – and it does NOT!

Please advise!

Unfortunately, this is something outside the scope of standard Appery.io platform support. You may consider purchasing Advisory Pack to get more in-depth help on this question. Here is more information about Advisory Pack.

I don’t want to build it in the BUILDER – I want to build it in Android Studio – so that I can later add in Custom Plugins – Like Google Play.
This is the feature that does NOT work.
Please export – and build via Android Studio – and send me the result. NOT through your builder. Send the video that show you building it in the Android Studio – and – the steps to do so – and then we can call this closed.

As you can check on the link below: https://appery.io/app/rest/build/resu...
It works fine without your custom Cordova plugins.
Please check it by yourself

Build does not work without any custom plugin and will not compile in Android Studio with export as noted on the forum .

Hello Bruce,
Thank you for contacting Appery.io support.
Please check if the build app works fine without custom Cordova plugins. They might cause the build error because each of them might require it's own libraries version

Gentlemen / Ladies,
I’m unable to use the export feature of Appery to build an Android product. Several other users are unable to use this core function. I’ve followed all of the forum suggestions to make this work.
Since this is core functionality (being able to export the Android product, and have it build without modification in Android Studio) – I presume doing this is supported.
I’ve posted this on the forum as well – happy to add whatever you tell me the workaround there is – as the fix to this significant defect.
This is the forum thread.

My project is:
https://appery.io/app/project/3fb9a05...
Please advise ASAP on a path forward. I believe for my level of support / subscription I should receive a response same day.
Best,
Bruce

Appery Support - let's escalate this to whomever is running the show there? Who is that ?

Max has left, and Max has told me that your new CTO is running the store. I've reached out to him on Linked in to offer help - and he's ignored that - I'm sure he's a busy guy.

But - he's the guy that's supposed to provide the Official company line here! So -

Dmitry Binunsky - can you please help us? Explain the direction here? Provide us a roadmap - or just tell us that Exadel has decided to abondon the product - and will only provide bare bones support - and little or no product enhancements - because - to the observer - that's what's going on.

Best,

Bruce
