I don't think this is correct:
$(dsid=mobilenavbaritem1] ).length
but, run the page, use Chrome Dev. Tools or Firebug, it will help you understand the page structure and select it with jQuery.
I'm not sure if it's me that cant make the image component be put on the navbar or there is changes upon with the appery.io, but no matter how i try I can't put an image on the navbar so I can customized my icons.... the same problem goes when I put image on the header or footer.....hope you could look into this...
