Failed to run aapt dump badging: Error: dump failed because no AndroidManifest.xml found

Downloaded the APK and then tried to upload it. It needed to have "zipalign", so after desperately digging around I figured out that it just needed to be zipped.

Awesome.

So, then I attempted to upload it and got the error above.

I checked help, which SEEMED to be useful: https://getsatisfaction.com/apperyio/...

But hey...tried the same thing ("release") and it did not work.

My client is expecting a release of the APK tonight. Due to some issues you've had with the login and "bugs" we're behind schedule and it may very well cost me thousands of dollars.

This is ridiculous.

Your APK cannot be analyzed using 'aapt dump badging'. Error output:
Failed to run aapt dump badging:
ERROR: dump failed because no AndroidManifest.xml found

Now, in plain English, can anyone explain why this didn't work for me but it did for the poster in that thread?

If you check 'Release' and then build - you shouldn't be getting any zipaling errors when uploading. Did you make any changes to the file once downloaded from Appery.io? You should upload the file as is.

I did check release, that's what I said in the post.

No changes, just zipped the file

Originally, I built the APK and downloaded it.

It said to zipalign

I zipped the package and uploaded it again and again

Same thing

Attempted to rebuild. I logged off. I logged in. I tried different browsers. I cleared caches.

No worries. How did you fix it, might help other users?

Sure Max no problem. I saw one of the Appery employees in a thread that mentioned the browser cache. So just in case that Chrome (and all of its multitude of instances) was downloading the same version of the file I used a clean Fire Fox to build the APK and unloaded it to Google.

(By the way, a clean Firefox means a browser that has been completely cleared of its cache.)

So it seems that trying to download it and use Eclipse and other zip tools were a wild goose chase. In the end, Appery did it's job.

I should have applied Occam's Razor.

Please edit my earlier posts for email, etc. TY. <
