Hello,
I am also getting same error. Does this mean to publish an app on Apple store we need to have XCode because we cannot import Apple certificate in Appery and sign the ipa?

Yes. Apple will only let you upload your exported (via Appery) IPA file via XCode's Application Loader tool.
