Very simple barcode scanning app funtions on iphone, but not Ipad

I made an exact replicata of the 'Build a mobile app with Barcode Scanner in 5 minutes' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QT7he...)

It worked perfectly on my Iphone. However when testing on a 4th generation Ipad, I can not get it to read the barcode. Other barcode scanning apps work on this Ipad, scanning the same barcodes. Both Ipad and Iphone are running iOS 8.4

The Ipad has no sim card, would this make a difference? I feel like there is a simple setting somewhere I am not finding.

All my app does is put the scanned info into a text field.

Yes, guess thats important!

It goes to the camera, and then will not read any barcodes. So it just stays with the camera activated until you close the app.

The case may be in the fact, that iPad doesn't has auto-focus. Could you please clarify do you have any other program with barcodescaner in it?

I previously stated, "Other barcode scanning apps work on this Ipad, scanning the same barcodes." Is that what you mean? The Ipad successfully scans the exact same barcode with different apps.

We have tested on iPad Air (iOS 8.4) and Barcode scan works correctly for us.
