Hello!
Unfortunately we are not able to reproduce this behavior... Tried different environments including specified by you above and no luck.

Could you post a screenshot of the browser plugin list? Also a screenshot of the Network tab from console when you open editor.

wow... it was a virus/ adware. This is a brand new laptop loaded with lots of Lenovo apps and guess one of them "SUPERFISH INC VISUAL DISCOVERY" was causing this issue. Uninstalled it, and now it seems to be working fine.
Surprisingly ..even McAfee on this system did not detect the adware
