I'd love to have the panel slide out using a finger rather than a button. There are so many codes on this page though. Which one is the correct code and where do I put it in the app builder?

For example, for a 'swipe left' event add an action=open panel.
Do I need to add a similar action to close it? Such as "swipe right" action= close panel?

It's up to you, what you need to implement.
For example you can "add" "swap right" event on your panel component with action "Close panel".
