Hi Ellen -- possibly due to a much reduced sizes place holders for such elements in jQuery Mobile CSS rules, the icon has a smaller one.

Status bar different after updating libraries
Thank you! That is exactly what I needed. Everything started working the way it should after I changed the size using css.
