I know that there will be a fix soon on this matter, however if I can suggest something. For those who do have devices that may take longer to load, is there a way that a "loading" bar or screen may be added before the content is loaded?

Hello! Yes, just before you make the call, you can programatically enable the spinner and then hide it again.
Using hideSpinner() and showSpinner() functions

Sorry for misunderstanding. You can handle spinner when call Rest service, but there is no way to do that if device take longer to load. So there is no way to do that.
