Yes. To send push notifications, the app must be installed on the device

The app is indeed installed on my device, but through Xcode. I built and run it on my iPhone through the Xcode source code.

I see Illya mentioned that "After installing your app (from .ipa file)", so I want to ask if it only works when I export the app via .ipa binary app, or am I missing something when building the app and installing to my device through Xcode?

Thanks.

Hi Chris,

If you are making export of your app as xCode project and don't making any changes in it, your build will be the same as if you choose binary export as .ipa file in Appery.io.

The difference is that you building your project locally on Mac and in result you are getting .ipa file that you'll need to install on a device.

Great, it finally works after reinstalling a few times. The app now appears in my notification settings.

One more question – how do I dismiss the notification badge number after I open the app?

Thanks!

Hi Alena, I think you misunderstood me. When I open the app and close it, the badge number is still appearing on the icon itself. How do I stop displaying the badge number when the user launches the app?
