I have search everywhere to try over come this background image and swatch colour conflict. this is a solution I found on overflow

.ui-mobile-viewport,div.ui-mobile-viewport {
background-color: transparent;
background-image: url("files/views/assets/image/FolderSwitcherBG.png");
}
I add this to the theme but it didnt work for me.

I was just thinking if we cant override a themeroller swatch in apperyio do you or your developers know if it can be done in xcode and eclipse

Sorry to be a pain on this but this issue is a deal breaker for us, not to be able to add a background image to an app and have it looking like it should just makes apperyio of no use to us apart from proof of concept.
