intermittent login

[quote:]I feel the only way for you guys to test this is to set a time frame and try to login at these intervals, if the app is closed and left a while like an hour, it often fails[/quote]Could you clarify do you close app or keep it in a background mode?

Do you stay logged in or you just open app and leave it unlogged in for some time?

Could you please provide exact steps like:
1) Open app
2) Enter password/login
...
etc.

OK Maryna,
I always start the app from a closed position, services dont always work very from background mode.

I am testing like this, open app, after launch image enter login and pass, login sucessful I quit and start test again

when it fails it navs to register screen I click back btn and try again, I then quit and test again.
I notice when it fails it will take several atempts to login, leave for 10 mins and all is working again
Also spinner spin time length has something to do with this
if it stops spinning very quickly it will fail
also if it spins for a long time like 20 sec. it will sometimes fail

Hi Michael,

I tried to reproduce this on iPad 2 with iOS 7.1, works properly. I tried about 5 times, then waited for an hour, another 5 attempts, waited again... Sorry, it seems to never reproduce.

We'll test it again on Monday.

Probably this can be reproduced on some specific devices. Do you have a chance to test your app on another iOS device?

I also noticed a white flash with a black horizontal stripe in the bottom of the page, after I click 'Login'. Do you see the same? I even don't see spinner, it logs in almost immediately.

Hi Katya,
wasnt expecting to hear from you 2day :)
the problem is very difficult, please retest on monday.

the spinner I am talking about is just after launch image, the login page pops in and the spinner spins for differents lenghts of time. this is what happens here. What about there?

the only white flash I see is after login and pass is entered the keyboard returns and the footer reappears,
theres a flash of contrast between the white keyboard and the black footer, is this what you mean?

thanks alot Katya,
especially it being the weekend, cheers

Hello Michael!

Do you use admin/admin credentials?

Sorry Maryna,
I don't follow, if you mean login and pass I have been using , it's "Q" for both

Sorry for not being clear. Yes, I meant login and passwor. We have just tested with admin/admin - installed app on iPad 2 (iOS 7.1), opened in and left for more than one hour in a background mode (not logged in), opened again and successfully logged in with admin/admin. We can try again with "Q" for both.

intermittent login

Hi Maryna,
heres how I tested.
if I sit and open and close the app 10 or twenty times 1 after the other, I dont login, just watching the spinner.

for most of the time the spinner spins for the same amount of time

every now and again 1 of 2 things will happen

  1. the spinner spins for maybe 20 seconds or more, this is often a time where login will fail, so at this point I will attempt to login

2 the spinner starts to spin but stops suddenly, this always fails to login

when login fails, 1 of these 2 events I have taken place
