change the text on a button with variables

I have a question again.
The problem

I have a button with the text "select category" when i press this button i get a list with buttons to select a different category. Now i want the selected category name (text) to replace the "select category" text on the first button. How do i do this?

but i hava another issue. i take a picture withe the camera componet and want to upload it.
i use for this the cordova plugin
but before i want to upload it how can i get the Original file name of the picture
