Why is an Appery.io login required for my second project, but not my first?

I really enjoy the feature that allows me to use the public Test URL for my project to let coworkers preview the work and give me feedback.

I created a second project, which is a copy of my first, to avoid making changes while people were trying to look at the preview. When I had additional changes ready I gave them the new URL (making sure it was marked Public), but they are redirected to an Appery.io login page.

It is incredibly helpful to be able to have a public preview URL for my projects without any signup/sharing hassles -- why is it that my first project can be previewed by anyone, but my second acts like it is private? Is this a feature or a bug?

You checked that Public is checked in Test window?

Yes, checked and double-checked. If I am logged in there is obviously no redirect, but if I paste the test URL into a different browser I get asked to login.

Try toggling the value, saving, then toggling it back.

Bingo! It worked. Thanks much Max, I wish I could help explain what I did to cause the malfunction but I can't recall anything in particular except that I created the second project from a zip backup of the first.

I thought I had this problem too, searched community and but found this thread. Toggling and saving solved the issue for me.

However, I suspect this is a little bug that Appery.io should add to the bug list and fix.

We'll test this more.

Hello! This seems to be reproducible only with some projects created a few months ago. Please let us know if you'll get this problem again.

Hi Gilbert,

If you face the issue again please share the app with a href="mailto:support@appery.io" rel="nofollow"support@appery.io/a and we'll fix it manually.

Yes, I seem to be having a similar problem recently when running my Web app on the iPhone. I seem always to be required to login, and when I do I get an indication that I do not have permission to continue. This seems to be happening intermittently and I cannot figure out why. The app is assigned use for public view. Thank you.
