Prior to the latest update you could swap quickly from mobile app to web app, how do I do this now as I cannot see the option on the main menu.

Hello! After update there is one project type – to simplify development. No need to change type. You can just develop mobile app and publish it on domain.

oh ok thats better then, I'm having issues uploading one of my apps through app.appery.io for hosting, any idea why this could be?

Could you try to unpublish app from this domain and publish again? Let us know about result please.

Marina, I have unpublished the app and re published as you asked however I am still having the same issue. I have also tried adding a www. before and tried a different app name.

Is this a isolated issue or a bug within the appery site?

Yes, looks like a bug. We reported this problem. I'll keep you informed.
