Hi Marina,
thx for the sample app,
I have made the required changes and have push working on android as a stand alone app, very impressed!

I saved the stand alone as a plugin and then imported to another app, made necessary changes, but it doesn't work,

when I open the app and go to the push screen it does not seem to register
here is a screenshot

I have checked all settings are the same it both apps, and no error in console, so I don't know why the message isn't being received

I have noticed that when I put in the sender id and api key and then save the app,

then close the app and reopen, the sender id and api key is not there!
it hasn't saved, even though I have tested in the browser and saved.

This must be the prob, and when I export the apk the id and key are not exporting either.

this is not happening on the stand alone app.

I have done what you suggested, still not working, but as I said earlier the app will not save the sender ID 617806817449 or the api key AIzaSyAjKfyqCGP7qWnIinaToijhMPHhuWv1GE8

I don't know if you have a way to make the app save these but if it won;t save the details it won't export them either.

what can I do now?

I would advise you not to publish such data in public access..
