Need help with csv import!

Hello,

I am new to this but am excited as I have some great app ideas. Tiggzi looks great so i was really happy when I found you guys.

However, I cannot seem to be able to upload a csv file to parse.com, stackmob, or the tiggzi database. The csv file I am trying to upload is very basic just to test it and I just cant manage it. I have several more complex csv's I was hoping to put together to make a database to run behind my app. I have successfully uploaded large csv's to mysql and am wondering if this is the way forward for me after all?

I look forward to any help you can provide and really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,
Graeme

Can you show the first few lines (you can put dummy data) from the file you are trying to import into Tiggzi Database?

Thanks Max!

Here is a few lines of the first couple of rows and columns, I have had to ommit more columns as I saw commas in them, but even with these taken out I still can't get the csv's to upload. I have also tried by taking out the height, weight and birth date columns out.

I could send you the full excel file if necessary?

Surname Forenames Position Height Weight Birth date
Adams Tony Alexander Central Defender 6ft 3ins 13st 11lbs 10 Oct 1966
Aliadiere Jeremie Forward 6ft 0ins 11st 0lbs 30 Mar 1983
Anelka Nicolas Centre-Forward 6ft 0ins 12st 0lbs 14 Mar 1979
Barrett Graham Forward 5ft 10ins 11st 7lbs 6 Oct 1981
Bartram Vincent Lee (Vince) Goalkeeper 6ft 2ins 13st 7lbs 7 Aug 1968
Bentley David Michael Forward 5ft 10ins 11st 2lbs 27 Aug 1984

Thanks for your help and quick response, I do appreciate it.
Graeme

I have just taken your sample data above and copied into a text file and imported it into a Tiggzi DB successfully (saved it as sampledata.csv)

After I created a sample DB I simply used the import function and all worked perfect.

FYI... I also tested with ()'s and 's and it also worked.

Thanks for the help Mike,

I have just tried to recreate exactly what you did on the tiggzi db but I get ...

server abort: error status = aborted

I don't know why I am having such a problem with what should be simple.

it also failed on parse.com with .... Upload content type is invalid !

My spreadsheets are much larger than this small sample size so I am wondering if I will be able to use them at all !
