Calling an application from another application .

Is there any way to call an application (anything downloaded from market or custom app) from a different application .
Not the capture or record or camera API s provided by phoneGap.
I want to call a custom application from an application that i have created by appery.
If the name of the application i need to call is com.example.ac , how can i call/invok it from my appery app.
Example : how do i achieve this on click of a button from my appery app.
