necessary to dragg ios launch images along in android apk? alternatives?

I have enterred the 7 different launch images and 4 icon images for the IOS version of my app. Using browse and the media manager, the images are uploaded into assets/images. When generating the android apk, all these images are incorporated in the generated image, making it three tiumes bigger than before.
Is there a way to link these images to the IOS part and including them in the .ipa generation ony?
