Android Lollipop - Native menu button?

Hi all - I've noticed on Android Lollipop, that when testing my app there is a native menu button overlayed in the bottom right corner of the phone:

Does anyone know how to access this button to use it as a menu button, or alernately, how to hide it?

I am sorry, we are not familiar with that. You would need to research Android docs.
