Android numeric keyboard missing decimal point - any workaround?

The missing decimal point for 'Number' field on some Samsung android phones is indeed a known problem, but could anyone suggest a work around to it?

Hello,
There are several workarounds e.g.:
1) Use input type=text instead of number
2) Write your own implementation of keyboard
3) Use 3rd party keyboard
