Return to current spot in list

In my ionic app, I have a list of items on a page. When I click one, it takes me to a details page, which has a back button. When I click the back button and return to the page with the list, it always starts me back at the top. How can I tell it to remember the spot I was at when I left, so that after viewing the details I come back to the same spot I left off? Thanks!
