Getting Past Apple App Nazis

During yesterday's appery.io webinar, it was asked how to get an app published, and the answer was that it was easy, just go to iTunesconnect and Google Play.

Well, it is easy on Google Play, a couple hours and you're done. Not so with Apple. I've been fighting them for a month for a very simple small business app.

To others who may read this, you can't get away with not fully testing it on all devices, particularly the iPad. It breaks on the simplest of jQuery.

To the community, I ask, how does one get an app past the soup nazis at apple? Our app includes buttons and select menus. (It's not like we just put in web links.) We want to do more on the 2.0 version, but for now the customer would like to see that we are able to deliver an app to his phone.

From Apple we get the completely unhelpful [quote:] your app:

  • Did not include iOS features. For example, it would be appropriate to use native iOS buttons and iOS features other than just web views, Push Notifications, or sharing.[/quote]

    Any ideas?

Hi Ed,

I'm afraid we cannot help you with Apple publishing. All I can think of - is to follow their requirements and try again.
