Object placement on a page

Hi, I was wondering if there is anyway to place the buttons to the left or right of, say, a description box. I seem to only be allowed to place the separate items above or below each other but not side by side. I want to keep my pages short and all features fit into the screen without the need of scrolling down, that's why.
