Vote Button/Increment Stored Backend Database Value

I am looking for a tutorial, or guidance, on something I'd think would be fairly simple: Clicking a button will increment the stored value on the backend database. I'm new to Appery.io and have very little experience coding. I searched extensively before posting, and all that I've come upon seems extremely complex for such a seemingly simple process. Thank you!
