I want to change my username for log in on the app. But it's not working......and there isn't any changes in the database. help?

How exactly do you implement this?

I'm working on a login application and after i successfully login, i have another button that is called control panel where i can, change my username and password. But i'm not sure how to update it and make the new username to appear on the database.
