The camera function in my app failed again today for no apparent reason.

So today I rolled back my app to a previous build in which the camera function was working. I made two - single digit - label edits on a page unrelated to the camera functions just to note the new build number. After compiling the new build the camera function failed again - on two separate pages.

I restored the previous working build and the camera functions are working again. Apparently, changing two labels on a page unrelated to the camera functions causes the camera function to fail.

Your support staff spent some time inspecting my app several days ago and reported no errors. From my point of view, the source of the error is unlikely in my app and probably lies in the process that compiles the APK. Sometimes the camera function works sometimes it does not.

Needless to say that after working on my app for 5 months having the camera function on two separate pages fail repeatedly with no apparent cause is causing much unnecessary grief.

I have been discussing this issue with support for about a week now and am not any nearer to finding a solution.

Searching the forum for "Camera not Working" yields 361 threads, so clearly I am not alone in having issues with the camera function.

Please help resolve this issue at the earliest possible opportunity. If I have done something wrong, I need to know what to do to resolve the issue. Otherwise, if the error is with the platform, you should resolve the issue to prevent users like me from wasting an inordinate amount of time attempting to utilize unreliable services.

We are processing your ticket #14001 -- in our testing environment Camera component works correctly without any issues like you describing.

And keep in mind that Camera service is just a pre-installed Cordova plugin (https://devcenter.appery.io/documenta...) inside your Appery.io project.

Hi Illya,

The camera function works for me too. About 50% of the time.

As I mentioned before, the support staff went through my app and did not report any errors.

Clearly I am not alone. There are hundreds of "Camera not working" threads on this forum. Perhaps the issue is device related.

As I cannot waste further time on this issue, I have removed the camera service from my app

Thank you for your assistance anyway. It's a great platform despite some annoying quirks.
