Multi-destination Mapping VS Multiple Mappings

I notice in the tutorials that it has you mapping values from a page to a storage variable, then in a separate mapping, from the storage variable to the service request.
I can also achieve the same result by mapping from the page to both the storage variable and the service request at the same time, in one mapping. I have tested this simply and have seen no difference in results.

Is there a reason to use two separate mappings compared to the method I use?

Please do not take a lot of time on this, it is merely a question and not an issue that I need resoled.

Hello Jack,

You are right - result the same. We recommend to use storage variable in cases where you need use data from one page on other pages, or change this data.

Thank you for your time Sergiy. If I understand you correctly, there is no difference in the two methods, correct? I know why SLV should be used, and I now have confirmation that the results are the same, but I want to know it there is anything else (like performance or timing) that is factor here.
