Project backup

Hi Tiggzi team.

We are working on an app that require many native functions. The only way we can test it is to export Tiggzi project to native source code. Every time we make a change other than our custom javascript, we go to Tiggzi to change it and export the new project to test on our device.

The first thing we hope for is the ability to back up and restore our project at some chosen points. Right now, our only option is the "undo" function, and it is very limited.

The second thing we hope for is syncing our local source with the backups from Tiggzi. If we can connect to Tiggzi through a version control system, it would simplify our process of updating and exporting.

Thank you for a nice product.

What you describe is exactly on our road map. You will be able to save a version and then revert back to it if needed.

We are also planning integration with 3rd party source controls systems.

Here is one thing you can do right now. You can export the entire app as a plug-in. If you need to go back to a particular version, you can import the plug-in.

Hi Max,

Thanks for a quick reply. I guess we can live with using Tiggzi plugin for now, at least it is still better than the way we are backing up right now.

While we are able to export our entire project and import it back, there is one particular screen in that project we are unable to export as plugin. Every time we try to export it, the Adobe Flash just crashes or stops working. We try at least 5 times for each Fifox, Chrome, Safari, and IE8. In the end, only IE8 is able to export that single page. I find it really weird but I want to leave this as a note if anyone follows this route and faces the same problem.

Beside, tiggzi.com won't let user log in on IE 8, it will say "Service is unavailable". Changing the link to either appbuilder.tiggzi.com or project.tiggzi.com will fix it. Another weird thing but I guess would be easy to fix.

Have a good day Max!

If you want to share the project with us, we'll try to export as plug-in and test the screen issue.

It's best to use Chrome/Firefox/Safari: http://help.tiggzi.com/documentation/...

We have the backup feature for some time now. Click Backup from Info tab to download the app. To import it, click More create options From Backup.

Oh ok found it. This is still rather unintuitive, it would be great to have this available while within the Project Editor, not have to go back to the Project List to backup.

Appery released a form of version control. Backup still works the same.

So this is now implemented rather than planned.
