When I check release under Android Binary my build fails. If you uncheck release the build works fine. I have tried to undo all source changes. What is going on here? I need to publish this app.

Please try to Undo all source changes once again. Does the error persist?
Yes I have undone all source changes on all category levels. But it will build my apk. as long as I don't have release checked. Do I need to add my own signed certificate?
Do you use autogenerated?
If you use custom certificates you can save all your certificates, make app backup, restore it, add certificates and try to export again.
I use auto-generated, certificates.
In this case make backup and restore app from it, then you should be able to export.

I had not yet published it to Google Play yet. But When I did delete the original project and then backed it up it worked correctly.
