Context menu not visible - Copy paste not possible \ not working with hot keys

For some reason I cannot see the context menu (the gear) or the + sign on any of my components. I am using both Chrome and Firefox (brand new installation with no adblockers). Is there a specific browser I should be using to be able to see these features?
