HTML component containing website links issue

I have an html component:

on a page containing text & website links, but the links open in the browser leaving the user unable to close or navigate back.

Lots similar questions on the forum, but I can't see how to apply it to content in an html component.

.....I would like the link to open the a browser window, not the app window.
