I had my app converted to the new builder, and it is no longer working as it should, and to add insult to injury the javascript is all on one line and has escape characters all through it so it is unreadable.
First problem if I test my app vis the test link, the navigateto from my login screen no longer works, instead it goes to my splash page, though it does go to the right page on my phone.
Help, was there a problem with the conversion?

If I understand you correctly, it wasn't working anymore after you've created a converted project from backup, right?
Just discovered, only the javascript in rest services is a mess. The other stuff in javascripts is ok.

No errors, it's just unreadable, I think your conversion needs some work

Barbra. I had the same problems....
Also if you have and code in a Panel it will be corrupt.
AND Big one. Any events you have created are not in the same order they used to be. So if your setting properties and storing data then running custom JS it will not work as you originally designed.
Also changes were made to some outputs. So any css effects may need to be adjusted.

Otherwise I'd rather go back to my project in the old app builder. I only converted to change the permissions. If I can do that without converting that is.

Also I am not happy about the prospect of having to completely retest and rewrite my app, and pay for the privilege, especially since my original version is complete and thoroughly tested.
