Date not saving into local storage variable for SendGrid email

I am trying to store a date value from a date picker into the local storage variable and then send the date with sendgrid using javascript. Instead of showing the date in the email it just shows "dd/mm/yy". Is this a known problem and if so how do I fix it?

Hello! Could you post code you use to send date? Some screenshots showing how did you add events would help.
