updating from a list

I have a list of contacts, displayed in a checkbox list.

Each contact has a field called "add by default", which is associated with the checkbox on the list item.

Can I update all the items on this list using appery's pointy-clicky features? If so, how do I go about setting that up? Or do I need to write code to do this?
