respective thumbnail image for each list item

Hi,

I wish to add a respective thumbnail image for each items/rows, I believe you can do it by invoke service, but I'm not quite sure how to map in, or how can I link the file name to display the respective image in the database.
What data and type of data should I put under the image col in the database?
