Is it possible to add multiple markers to a map, and give each of them a description from the database?

I would like to make a map with different markers (from the database) and give each a different description (also from the database). Could this also be used in conjunction with a map search and geolocation feature on the map?

Thank you, but I have already looked at these tutorials. What I am trying (and failing) to do is combine these together so they work at the same time, on the same map.
How could I also add an individual description for each of the markers?

Please check Google Map API. You would need to it to add any information to the markers.
