Difference phone app and tablet app

Hi,

While creating new app project, it say to select option phone app/tablet app,etc
I have a question what will be the difference in phone and tablet app, so that I can create project accordingly.

Hi Ishani,

Phone is for Phones, tablet is for tablets. Tablet app uses a Master-Detail page that splits your app. After you click an Item, a selected page will be opened but you still can see app menu.

ok thanks but can i instal this phone app in tablet and use it ?

Phone apps do work on tablets. Please note every device has its specific features. If an app in particular requests a feature that is not present, then problems can appear.

In final app, there is an XML file called Manifest, which lays down the minimum hardware requirements for the app.

You'll be able to define what devices can see your app in the Store.
