i'm going blind or the docs are out of date, but in the tutorial I'm reading:
Binding the service

1. Open startScreen and switch to the DATA tab, located just to the left of the Components palette.

   I can't find any DATA tab, or a components palette.
   help please

I have similar problem. I can't see Data tab. There are only Scope and Binding tabs. Somethings changed? How can I work with data on page?

Ok, I get the answer.
I had a different type of project. I have created new app from jQuery Mobile App template and now it's ok.

Thank you for the update! That's correct the Data tab is only available for jQuery Mobile builder.
