Displaying authors from a wordpress site for RSS feeds

Hi,
I have a multi-author wordpress site. On that site, I have a page which lists all contributing authors and a link to their rss feed. I am trying to develop a simple app which lists the contributing authors and allows the end user to nominate from that list which authors they would like to receive rss feeds from. So I'm going to have to set up a REST request to pull that updated info from the URL? or am I WAY off? Thanks,

I don't exactly know how to do that but I'm willing to learn. I'll spend the next few days with my head in the Docs and forums. Any suggested places to start?

Ok, that is excellent. I'll follow that tutorial. If I needed someone to walk me through step by step on how to set up a REST request to pull data from an author list that I have on my site would that be outside the scope of what is offered in terms of support. Of course, I would be willing to set up a paid account.
