Development or distribution Provisioning profile

I try to test my app on an Ipad.

I have already the bundel ID
development certificate P12 with password.

Now i need a provisioning profile.
However when i am at the developer account i have 2 options.

Development provisioning file and Distribution provisioning file.
Which of the 2 do i need for testing my app?

I asume i need the Development provisioning file because i just like to test and not distribute yet.

Also i can not find any video how to create a distribution certifacate on windows. I have done already the development certificate.

If you set certificate for Ad Hoc you will be able to install you App on several devices without using the App Store.

If you set certificate for App Store you will be able to install app only after App Store approve and publish it.

both certificate and provis. profile should be distribution version

development is needed only in 1 case when you test app in xcode via usb
apple is doing very poor job in this section...

Thans for all the answers.

I have figure it out myself already and have my app now running on the Ipad. Without using the App Store.

I got everything sorted for testing.

Next step will be geting the distribution cert and provision files.
so i can put in the App Store

Helllo! You can make it the same way - difference is that you generate Distribution Certificate on Distribution tab and Development - on Development tab - the process is the same.

I already have an IOS developer account. I'm on Windows and when I try the instructions in the second video, I get this error at the end:

"No certificate matches private key"

Hi, sorry, but if you have any problems with .ipa build we'll try to help, but generating iOS certificates is outside the scope of our support.
