Filter / query with file collection

How can i filter or query with file collection?
I have different files in the file collection (mp3, png, jpg ...). I would like create differnt list on different page by file extension.

Technically this is possible.
You will need to create additional Collection, with fields (types): file_id (String), file_extension (String), and store there information about uploaded files and then query to this collection.

I understand but why need it ... keep it simple!
Filterable files collection is the correct solution. When will be ready?
