Using the Google maps API

I have been trying to link my google map component to a database with some location venues. A have a page with a list of events, imported from my event collection. On click on a particular event, I navigate to my details page where I can see all the details from this particular event, including a map. I have all the informations other than the map correctly.

I have included a geopoint on my collection. Nevertheless I cannot get the map to show the marker. Am I doing so,ething wrong?

Please help me as It is driving me crazy!

Also show your map screen shot, do you have Show marker option enabled in map Properties?

I have read the tutorial but there is something missing on the Geomap attributes. I have mapped de Geopoint in my database to the "marker" of the Google map component. The attribute is set to visible.

By trial and error and trying many different options I have managed to get the marker to be on the map. Nevertheless, it is not on the right spot:

Please try to complete this tutorial from beginning to end, in order to better understand the essence.
