OK. Makes sense but what about the appery.io tester - will that work? and then do I also have to have the gps on ? or will it also check via the wifi connections ?

Problem with Maps component
GPS won't work in tester.
There is no possibility of direct control of where geo-position data comes from. It is important to note that when, for example, native Google maps application determines the device location on the Wi-Fi-access points, it is solely a function of geo-positioning by Google tools, on the basis of their data. This positioning is not available from other applications.
More about API you can read here: http://docs.phonegap.com/en/2.4.0/cor... - i.e. that's API is available to the application. A more refined analysis requires additional PhoneGap plug-ins.
