9-patch image

According to the documentation is highly recommended to use 9-patch images as launch images. This requires the extension 9.png.

Appery.IO stores launch images as splash.png instead splash.9.png.

This has effects on the launch image for different screen sizes (and in portrait / landscape modes of the devices)?

Hi Rafael,

Did you set all "Launch Images"?

Yes, but unfortunately the device displays a stretched launch image except for the devices with screen sizes exact to 960x270, 640x320, 470x320, 426x320...

In all other devices (with different screen sizes) looks really bad.

Rafael,

You can try manually adding all the possible sizes in an appropriate file (there should be an xml file with all sizes).

We think that this is an issue of Appery.IO. All the posible sizes are so much sizes....

We have downloaded the code, we have replaced the 4 files (xhdpi, hdpi, mdpi, ldpi splash.png) with images splash.9.png 9-patches developed with a 9-patch tool, we have compiled the code using Eclipse and it works fine in all devices (with different screen sizes).

We think Appery.IO is doing something wrong with the launch images that are uploaded to Android binary - Launch Images

Thank you so much.

Rafael,

Appery.io uses images allowed by PhoneGap: http://docs.phonegap.com/en/3.0.0/cor...

If no one else have problems like this is a sign that perhaps we are doing something wrong

In anycase, we solve this issue replacing the images and using Eclipse.

And this url that you provides us is very clear:

"You should use a 9-patch image for your splash screen."

and in this other link:

https://developer.android.com/tools/h...

is very clear too as you can see:

"Your image will be saved with the .9.png file name."

This is just the way we do it and it works.
